So its been a while..

I just finished my first semester at Berkeley last week and.. it’s helped me learn a lot about myself.  Aside from many faults that I want to address in the near future, it’s taught me a great deal of appreciation.  I wasn’t able to meet my expectations grades-wise (completely my fault), but I was able to get a good feel for my new environment what’s to come in my next one and a half years in Norcal (hopefully not more than that).  With the exception of some brilliant minds, the majority of students at Cal are like me, normal. Unlike everything I have learned at school thus far, your grade at Berkeley really comes down to how hard you are willing to work, NOT how smart you are.   So next semester, I plan to work much more than this past one, and hopefully end up proving myself right.

This winter break will be an eventful one for me, I barely have time to catch up on sleep, which was perhaps my most “looked-forward” thing to do during the semester.  I just came back from a trip to Vegas and the Grand Canyon with Eric, Kevin, Kelvin, Josh, and Christina.  All and all, I had fun, but it wasn’t nearly as relaxing as it was last time.  It was my first time seeing the Grand Canyon, but hopefully not the best.   I think the crowd and chilling weather dampened my time there.  The view is magnificent, but I think it’s a place for a more intimate experience, the rush and sheer number of people made it just a normal one for me this time.

Now it is Christmas weekend and I am spending it with my parents, I wouldn’t have it any other way.  It gives me a chance to relax and reflect before the new year.   Next year will be my 21st year, and I plan to start my new decade with good vibes, great company, and remarkable memories.  What better way to start it than going back to Taiwan with family and friends?  I’ll be 15 hours ahead after Christmas, but I hope everyone has a spectacular holiday season!

Final Finals Week.. sorta.

This coming week will be my last week this semester, and most likely my last week at Mt.SAC.  I start off with two finals on Monday, and I have yet to start studying for any of them.  So it seems like these two years here has taught me one thing…. that I will be very screwed next year.

Thankful

Dumpling house and tea for lunch, homemade mashed potatoes and prime rib for dinner, incredible friends in my life, and a beloved family to celebrate it with; what isn’t there to be thankful for?  Today and everyday; I appreciate everything and everyone.  Life is great and I am truly blessed, and yet there are so many things in my life to look forward to still.  Positivity is the key to happiness, and I believe that more every day. I hope everyone is happy in life.  If not then just stay positive, make things happen because potential exists within everyone.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone and best wishes!!

reminiscent

I miss being a little kid. They’re so carefree and outgoing, anything could put a smile on their face.  They don’t care what they do, or what they say; they have fun as long as they’re around other people.  The simplest thing can entertain them for hours, and their laughter is completely genuine.  There are no ill intentions, or deception; they’ll say what’s on their mind, and conversations are never a chore for them.  They don’t know what stress is yet, only anxiety when they’re about to get in trouble, or nervousness when they’re around that person they like.  They live for the moment and look forward to the future.  When they grow up they learn to do the opposite; living for what would be best for the future, but rarely looking forward to it, only getting out of class, getting out of work, or what they’re doing on the weekend.  At least for me anyways, I miss being a kid.

Haha i was really chubby.
